The 14 th International WATCH DOCS film Festival – Human rights in film – starts on the 5th of December. We are its official, elegant and equal partner! Because we support things which are good and moving and which broaden the horizons. This year WATCH DOCS takes place from the 5th to 14th of December in three cinemas in Warsaw. At present it is one of the world’s two biggest film events devoted to human rights, presenting documentaries in which commitment to rights of the individual meets the art of film.

WATCH DOCS is also the oldest documentary films festival organised in Warsaw. Every year during the festival nearly 100 world-class films are shown, which are watched by a total of over 70 000 spectators in Poland. WATCH DOCS IFF also includes meetings and panel discussions with experts, human rights defenders, journalists and politicians.

WATCH DOCS is a joint undertaking of the leading Polish human rights organization – the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights, the biggest interdisciplinary arts centre in Central and Eastern Europe – Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle and the Social Institute of Film – an organisation specialising in promoting socially committed documentaries.

One of the most interestingevents accompanying this year’s edition of the festival will be a photography exhibition “The Sochi Project. An Atlas of War and Tourism in the Caucasus” by Rob Hornstra and Arnold van Bruggen. The opening of the exhibition with the participation of the authors of the presented photographs will be held at 6.00 p.m. on the 6th of December in the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle.
